The garden co-ops' apartments are large, with long foyers and many closets, and construction dust travels through all of it — into every closet, along every radiator cover, into the tracks of every casement window, across a hundred square yards of parquet. It's finer than household dust and comes back after a single wipe. So we clean in passes: a first pass to remove the bulk through every room, a second after it has resettled, and a final detail pass, working top-down and finishing floors last each time — the parquet vacuumed with a soft brush head and damp-mopped with a neutral product, never soaked.

Then the residue: paint splatter on fixtures and floors, caulk smears on new tile, adhesive from protective film, grout haze on a new bathroom. Each needs its own product and a careful hand so the new finishes aren't damaged and the old ones aren't either. Cabinets and drawers are cleaned inside before anything goes in, vents and light fixtures cleared, casement tracks and sills detailed, walls and baseboards wiped. The kitchen and bathrooms get a full sanitizing clean to finish.

Because these apartments are large, a renovation clean is usually a full day with two cleaners.
